GPT-6.1 Sol is a major upgrade to GPT-6 Sol, OpenAI’s lower-cost model line. According to OpenAI, it is built for coding, agents and professional workloads. It supports a context window of about 1.05 million tokens and can generate up to 128,000 output tokens in a single response.
The model is available now to API developers and to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu users.
GPT-6.1 Sol Pricing
Price is the main story. In the API, GPT-6.1 Sol costs:

- Output: $10 per million tokens
- Cached input: $0.10 per million tokens
That is roughly a fifth of GPT-6 Astra’s standard token prices, which makes high-volume agent and coding workloads far cheaper to run.

- Terminal-Bench Science 0.1: averages $5.47 per task, versus $23.21 for Opus 5.5 and $23.80 for Astra.
